ANREW MACPHERSON’S ‘SYNCHONICITY’ to show at ARCANE Space May 8

May 8 – 31
Balancing intimacy with expansiveness, internationally renowned photographer ANDREW MACPHERSON’s SYNCHRONICITY captures the resilience of flora blooming across Los Angeles and Southwest landscapes. With a subtle nod to the stark immediacy of Weegee and the stylized surrealism of Guy Bourdin, Macpherson’s images transform fleeting blooms into vivid, otherworldly encounters.

SYNCHRONICITY opens May 8, Friday 6-9pm

“The camera saw flowers in a way I hadn’t before… It felt like a collision between beauty and something more raw—almost cinematic.” Andrew Macpherson
This exhibition coincides with the release of a companion book featuring the full series of images. There will be a Book Signing- Saturday, May 9th and Artist’s Talk- Sunday, May 24th, 2pm

About ANDREW MACPHERSONBorn in London and raised in England’s New Forest, MacPherson began his career at a Dickensian photo production house in the hub of London’s newspaper industry. That grim year of experience opened the door to assisting leading photographers including Antony Armstrong-Jones and Horst P. Horst. Discovered at 23 by Amanda Harlech, he went on to shoot for publications including The FaceElle, and Vogue, and to create international campaigns for brands such as Diesel, Levi’s, Ray-Ban, and H&M. Since relocating to California in 1996, he has photographed many of the music and entertainment industry’s most iconic figures while continuing to develop personal projects exploring the intersection of beauty, nature, and spirituality.
