LOS ANGELES, Calif. (August 19, 2023) – Artist and event producer Antonio Pelayo presents “La Bulla,” a memorable Latin culture experience on Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Plaza De La Raza in Los Angeles. The event celebrates the beloved culture and spirit of Lucha Libre (wrestling) with live Lucha matches, featuring the legendary Mexican luchador (wrestler) Psychosis (best known for his work with Asistencia Asesoria y Administracion, World Championship Wrestling, Extreme Championship Wrestling and World Wrestling Entertainment) and local luchadores Lil Cholo and company. A percentage of all proceeds from ticket sales, art sales, and other event activities will benefit Plaza De La Raza Cultural Center.
The 21 & over experience will showcase the talents of more than 100 artists with an immersive art exhibit, presenting original one-of-a-kind Lucha Libre themed designs created for “La Bulla,” using the shape of Psychosis’s Luchador mask as the canvas for each art piece, including submissions by actor David Arquette (Scream franchise) and musician Dave Navarro (Jane’s Addiction).
“The La Bulla project is very dear to me as it’s part of my childhood growing up in Mexico and around the Lucha Libre culture. I’m proud to feature the exciting Luchadores, Psychosis and Lil Cholo as our main event and to celebrate the talents of the featured artists and musicians, like our headlining band El Conjunto Nueva Ola, DJs Sizzle Fantastic and Sloe Poke. It’s an awesome feeling to be in a position to give back to the community, the Plaza De La Raza Cultural Center, and to the arts by showcasing established and emerging artists, all while enjoying a one-of-a-kind event in Los Angeles,” added Pelayo.
Two stages with full programs of entertainment round out the festivities with the main stage hosted by comedian/actor Fabian Alomar (Hulu’s This Fool and FX’s Mayans M.C.) as well as a fashion show by Wardrobe Divas, live art, car and bikes shows, photography exhibit and various arts & crafts vendors throughout the venue.
The 2023 installment of La Bulla takes place on Saturday, August 19, from 7pm to 1am, at Plaza De La Raza, located at 3540 North Mission Road in Los Angeles, California.
