The Los Angeles Chargers have had a legendary start of the season with their defense playing the way it has. Especially these last three games vs. the Browns, Saints and Tennessee Titans. Historic sacks within the last three games with over five sacks all three games and that’s on top of holding back some of the best teams in the league. Only giving up 20 points to the Steelers and 17 or less, including only allowing 10 points against the Browns and eight points against the Saints. All this with their star cornerback Asante Samuel Jr. with injuries; the Chargers lead the league in defensive scoring.
LET’S DO THIS…
The past previous four years, we never even broke the top twenty in this category. Having this defense playing the way it is means the Chargers truly have a shot at winning every single game. With a great running game and a top five quarterback in the league, who leads the league with the least amount of interceptions, anything is possible for this continuing to get better Chargers team.
The Chargers against the Titans at home in Sofi Stadium was an amazing home win. Justin Herbert is enroute to break his own record for ‘most consecutive snaps without an interception’ in franchise history. He already holds the record with 223 passes. He hasn’t thrown an interception since week 1 against the Raiders. Herbert had a decent day with 14/18 with 164 yards, a passing touchdown and a rushing touchdown. Herbert is finally getting comfortable in this offensive system and it’s showing.
Haskins got his first ever touchdown as a Charger, rushing in for a 1-yard rushing touchdown. Dicker seems to be back in rhythm and didn’t miss any field goals. Quentin Johnston is showing he is the receiver a lot of us thought he was the whole time. he’s tied for eighth in the league with 5 touchdowns, with great hands and great routes I don’t doubt he ends the season with 9 or ten touchdowns with how its going. With Gus Edwards back in the fold the Reps were shared between Edwards and Dobbins, which is great to try to rest each of them equally looking forward to the playoffs. Capping this third win in a row for the Chargers is huge for the momentum moving into the next four games, beating the Titans 27-17.
What to look forward to for L.A. Chargers …
Out of the next four games for the Chargers, three of them are primetime games with two Sunday night games against the Bengals and the Chiefs with Monday’s night game as well against the Ravens, aka “The Harbaugh Bowl.” Its going to be the toughest stretch of the season for the team and will definitely show if this team is ready for the playoffs under head coach Jim Harbaugh. right now the Chargers have a 79% chance of going to the playoffs. If we win against the Cincinnati Bengals, we have a 91% chance of making the playoffs. The Chargers hold the future within their own hands. Last time Herbert and Burrow met up, the Chargers beat them by over 21 points. Lets hope we can still scare the stripes off them with a little thunder and lightning!
